How Laundry Pickup & Delivery Works

Laundry pickup & delivery is wash & fold service that comes to you. Instead of driving to a laundromat, you schedule a pickup, leave your bags out, and your laundry comes back washed, dried and folded. Here is how it works at 1st Class Laundry, step by step.

1. Check your ZIP code

Pickup & delivery is offered in specific service areas, so the first step is entering your ZIP. If your address is covered, you see the pickup days and time windows available for your area. Our delivery areas page lists the towns and ZIP codes we serve.

2. Choose a pickup window and preferences

Pick a day and time window that suits you, then choose how you want your laundry handled, such as the detergent and any preferences offered at checkout. The checkout shows the current price per pound, any minimum, and the expected return before you book.

3. Bag your laundry

  • Use sturdy bags you do not mind us handling; tie them closed.
  • Empty pockets: pens, lip balm, tissues and coins cause most laundry mishaps.
  • Keep dry-clean-only, very delicate or heavily soiled items out, or mention them when you book.
  • If something must not go in the dryer, put it in a separate bag and say so.

4. Leave it out

At pickup time, leave your bags at the door or the spot you chose when booking. There is no need to be home if the bags are in an agreed place.

5. We weigh, wash, dry and fold

Your laundry is taken to one of our stores, weighed, then washed, dried and folded with the preferences you picked. Because the price is per pound, the final total is based on the actual weight, and your card is only charged for that final total.

6. It comes back to your door

Your laundry is delivered back folded and ready to put away. Repeat customers can book again whenever they need to.

Is it worth it?

Pickup & delivery costs more than doing the laundry yourself, because you are paying for the washing, drying, folding and both trips. For many households, getting several hours back each week is the point. It is also handy in short bursts: after a trip, during a busy stretch at work, or when bulky bedding is piling up.

If your ZIP is not covered yet

Service areas grow over time. If your ZIP is not covered, our self-service stores are open seven days a week, and wash & fold drop-off is another way to hand the job over.

Tips for a smooth first order

  • Book a few days ahead if you need a specific window.
  • Separate anything you want washed on its own, such as work uniforms or pet blankets, into its own bag.
  • Not sure how much you have? Twenty pounds is typically about two home washer loads.
